As well as league games our boys participate in the annual 7 a side competition held at Royal Holloway University.
Our year 6 boys had their in November and managed to draw all their 4 games, which sadly wasn't enough to see them progress in the event.
Our year 5 boys have their rescheduled event on Thursday May 24th 2018
Our year 5 boys have a friendly match at home to St Jude's on Tuesday January 30th. The boys lost 4-1. They fought really hard but came up against an extremely strong side.
Year 5/6 Girls Football
Our girls train once a week and we participate in friendly matches against local schools and tournaments.
We are lucky to have 15 girls who participate in training, which is very impressive for a one form entry school.
All our girls featured, as we took 2 teams to the annual event at Royal Holloway University in November 2017. One of our teams made it to the quarter finals but sadly lost and the other team drew all their games and this sadly wasn't enough to see them progress out the group. Well done to all the girls who represented the school.
The next game for the girls is Wednesday January 31st, when we cross the road to play St Jude's School, this will be instead of their training that day. The girls lost 5-3. We were 3-0 winners of the first half, and then St Jude's took control of the second half and came back strong to win the game.
After this the girls will enter a 7 a side event being held at Cardinal Newman School on Thursday March 15th 15:30-17:00.
Our girl’s football teams participated in a 7 aside tournament at Cardinal Newman School, earlier this month. We fielded 2 strong teams and both teams found themselves up against 2 form entry schools or higher in their respective leagues.
One of our teams won all 4 league games, meaning they won the group. A great achievement from this team.
Our other team lost 2, (both narrowly 1-0) and drew the other 2, 0-0. This team was really unlucky, they had numerous opportunities, but just couldn’t find a way past the opposition keepers.
All the girls should feel really proud of their performances as they really got stuck in and played some great football throughout the afternoon.
The girls have made superb progress since September and it was lovely to see them hold their own against tough opposition.
I would like to take this opportunity in thanking the year 6 girls for their effort, determination and encouragement and support to the year 4/5 girls this season. You are all very talented footballers and you will all be a very big loss to the school, when you depart in the summer. I need to find a way to keep you here!
Thank you for the fantastic support from parents and grandparents at the event too. The year 6 girls will play the year 6 boys in our annual end of year football match in July.
We enter into numerous sporting competitons/festivals throughout the year, all organised through our sports confederation.
Please see our up to date sporting calendar for the remainder of the year.
Friday January 26th year 5 and year 6 Dodge ball at Cleves School - WINNERS!
Congratulations to our children who won this event for the 3rd year running, it makes us District winners. Our team participated against 9 other schools. It was a very close event, but I am thrilled for our children that we came out winners again. Well done to all 8 players who represented the school, a superb achievement.
Thursday February 1st year 5 and year 6 Sportshall Athletics at the Xcel leisure centre
Our children came 8th out of 10 schools on the day. The 21 representatives tried their very best. Some work needed on baton changeover for sure. Lovely that we had some children represent the school for the first time. Great effort, attitude and determination from you all.

Saturday April 28th Year 3-6 Cross Country at Notre Dame School
34 children represented the school in the rescheduled cross country event at the very impressive Notre Dame School on Saturday April 28th.
There was on average 62 runners in each race, with 6 races taking part in total on the day.
All our children deserve recognition for their efforts on the day, but I am not going to name all 34, instead I will mention those children who came in the top 20.
So congratulations to them were, Kaspar from year 4 (5th) Caelan from year 6 (6th) Millie from year 6 (10th) Godfrey from year 4 (12th) Flynn from year 6 (12th) Charlie from year 5 (18th) and Oliver from year 6 (20th)
A special mention to all our year 3 runners who would have found themselves running against year 4 children from other schools.
Congratulations to our year 6 girls who finished in 3rdrd place overall on the day, which was our highest placed finish out of our 6 teams. Super team effort girls, well done.
Final results were as follows:
Year 3-4 Boys = 6th
Year 3-4 Girls = 6th
Year 5 Boys = 7th
Year 5 Girls = 8th
Year 6 Boys = 4th
Year 6 Girls = 3rd
These results are amazing. 18 schools participated in each race and bearing in mind our children were up against the likes of St Georges College & Cleves School, it’s an excellent achievement from our children.
Well done to all our runners on the day, the competition was tough but you all gave 100% & did yourselves proud. Thank you to all the parents for your support on the day.
Finally thank you to Miss Libby in supporting myself & the children on the day and for giving up her time at the weekend.

Benefits of sports participation
Lets get walking!
Thank you to all the children who attended our 2 recent sports camps.
We all had lots of fun, playing a variety of different games.
As ever our children were exceptionally well behaved.
Summer Sports Camp
I will be holding a camp on Monday July 23rd for children in years 1-6.
I look forward to seeing all the children then, for a day of sporting fun.
Wake Up Shake Up
Our children start their day with wake up shake up, a 5 minute dance/aerobic session to get them set for their day ahead. This is very popular with the children. Our year 6 children choose the music and choreograph the routines, so they are in control of their learning.
District Sports 2018
34 children represented the school on Wednesday for this year’s District Sports Finals.
Objective for us all on the day was to aim high as ever & win it, sadly it wasn’t to be this year as overall we came 2nd, which is obviously still an excellent achievement from our children.
All of our 4 year group teams came in the top 3, with year 3 coming 2nd, year 4 took 1st place, year 5 came joint 3rd and another 1st was secured for our year 6 team. From that we had 12 1st place finishes, 9 2nd place & 5 3rd places finishes throughout the event.
It was Holy Family School who took 1st place overall, so congratulations to them.
The children did so well, and should feel really proud of what they achieved, they gave their all. The team spirit on the day was superb. All 8 of our relay teams qualified in their heats for the final. In those finals, our year 4 boys’ team took 1st place, year 5 & 6 boys took 2nd, along with the year 6 girls. Year 3 & 4 girls came 3rd, with the year 3 boys & 5 girls finishing in 5th place. We had some excellent individual performances too, with many top 3 finishes.
A special mention to these superstar athletes who secured 1st places finishes on the day. Charlie & Oliver for the sprints. Calean & Kaspar in the 600m. Teddy, Luca, Rebecca & Liam for ball throwing. Oliver, Ruby & Orla for long jump & the year 4 boys relay team consisting of Luca, James, Kaspar & Godfrey.
A huge thank you to our amazing parents for their support to all children, we certainly heard you throughout the day which was lovely. Our children are very lucky.
Thank you to Miss Hussey, Miss Marsh, Miss Bhambra and my work experience child Jack for their help & support on the day.
Sports Captains 2017/2018
Liam & Lola from year 6 were chosen to be our new Sports captains for this year. This is a new role within the school. Throughout the year the children will attend meetings with Mr Taylor to discuss ways we can sport even better in the school. More information to follow......
Sports Play Leaders 2017/2018
Welcome to our Sports play leader section of our website.
The children pictured below were selected for this role at the end of year 5. The children's role includes them spending time leading games to our KS1 children during lunchtimes. They also plan & run my Change 4 Life club each week, and they then evaluate their performance. In the summer term they lead a PE lesson and help with our Sports days. These children are a huge help to and great role models within our school.
Breaking news, in January 2018 some children in year 5 have been selected to be sports play leaders from September this year, when they are in year 6. These children will take part in training to give them the necessary skills to be come excellent leaders.
Sports Day 2018
What a great day we all had on Friday June 8th as we came together as a school with family and friends for our annual Sports Day. The weather was kind to us and the children made it a most memorable day for us all. Their noise, determination, effort and support for one another was superb.
Our individual Sports day events winners on the day were (see photos above)
EYFS - St David’s
Years 1-3 St George’s
Years 4-6 St Patrick’s
Overall Winners - St David’s, St Georges 2nd, St Patrick’s 3rd and St Andrew’s 4th.
Huge thank you to all 24 children who were part of the extremely successful Sports Crew for the day. Those children were amazing, with them the day would not have run so smoothly. I understand quite a few of the children very much enjoyed the status of it, along with the wearing of the t-shirts.
Thank you to the wonderful support from family and friends and of course to our PTA who provided drinks, cakes and fruit.
On a personal note it was the most enjoyable one for me, in the 4 years I have been at the school.
Inter House Sports
Welcome tour Inter House sports section. Here you will find out the latest results and upcoming events. These events happen during lunchtimes for children in years 3-6.
The autumn term saw children participate in football. It was St Patrick's house who were victorious (see picture below) by winning all 3 games. St David's were 2nd, St Georges were 3rd and St Andrew's came 4th. Well done to all the children who participated in the event.
The spring term will see a Cross Country event. This will go ahead on Friday March 23rd, with children in years 3-6 competing during lunchtime.
Bets of luck to you all.
Well done to all the children who represented the school & their House in our recent House Cross Country event.
