Friday Tuck Shop / Tuck Trays

Friday Tuck Shop / Tuck Trays
Tuck Shop is a much-loved Friday activity that has been running successfully for many years. It is also the PTA’s largest source of fundraising. In the last academic year alone, it raised over £6,200, contributing more than half of the PTA’s total funds.
Many children enjoy having a home-baked treat at the end of the week, and we are very grateful to the parent volunteers who make this possible.
What is Tuck Shop?
Each week, parent volunteers provide a selection of home-baked goods which are offered to children during the Friday morning break. Participation is based on a voluntary contribution of £1 per week, which goes directly to the PTA to support school initiatives and activities.
Tuck Shop plays a vital role in enabling the PTA to fund resources and experiences for the school community. We greatly appreciate the time and effort given by all volunteers.
How You Can Help
Tuck Shop can only run with the support of volunteers, and we are always keen to welcome more helpers.
- Bakers are typically asked to provide 20–30 nut-free bakes on a rota basis
- Servers help organise and distribute trays to each year group on Friday mornings after drop-off (usually finished by 9:45am)
If you would like to get involved, please contact your class representative.
Food Allergies and Dietary Requirements
St Cuthbert’s is a nut-free school, including ingredients that may contain traces of nuts.
While volunteers do their best to accommodate some dietary preferences, all baked goods are prepared in domestic kitchens. As such, the PTA and volunteers cannot guarantee that items are free from allergens or cross-contamination.
For this reason:
- Children with allergies, intolerances, or specific dietary requirements are asked to bring their own nut-free treat from home or opt out of Tuck Shop
- Items brought from home should be clearly labelled with the child’s name and year group and given to the office who will inform the serving team
- Donations in these cases are optional
Please note: Do not send any items containing nuts or labelled “may contain nuts”
- Children without dietary requirements should either take part in Tuck Shop or opt out (they should not bring alternative treats)
- Sweets and lollipops should not be brought into school
