Catholic Social Teaching
At St. Cuthbert's we value the Catholic Social Teaching (CST) Principles.
More about this can be seen on this video.
The CST principles are;
Human dignity, the common good, participation, subsidiarity, stewardship, solidarity, preferential option for the poor, distributive justice, and promoting peace.

To ensure our children understand these principles, school have decided to teach them using the CAFOD resources. Each principle is linked to an animal, with each having a fun story and nursery rhyme.

CST song
The whole school join in with enthusiasm when we play the Catholic Social Teaching song. You can listen to it here and join in at home too.
Pupil Parliament
Each children's group within our Pupil Parliament are assigned a principle. This helps the children to understand how they are living out these principles in their every day actions and choices.
Certificates
Each term, the principle we are focusing on changes and the children are awarded a certificate during Friday's celebration assembly. This is a real celebration of the choices that child has been making during the week.
