St Cuthbert’s Music Intent Statement
At St Cuthbert’s our music curriculum inspires spiritual exploration, creativity, self-expression and encourages our children on their musical journeys. It gives the children an opportunity to connect with others though listening, singing, playing, evaluating, analysing, and composing across a wide range of styles, traditions, and musical genres. We hope to promote a curiosity and lifelong love for music by exposing our children to a diverse range of musical experiences and igniting a passion for Music. We are committed to ensuring our children understand the value and importance of music in the wider community and can use their musical skills, knowledge and experiences to involve themselves in music, in a variety of contexts.
'Music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity' (The National Curriculum)
