Pond Dipping
As part of our science on life cycles, we went pond dipping in the school pond. Nobody fell in! We found quite a few creatures and then researched whether their life cycles were complete or incomplete metamorphosis.
Wellbeing Day
As part of our Wellbeing Day, Year 5 took part in the RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch. We split into groups but had to be careful not to count the same birds several times. Sparrows came high on the list! This tied in with our science topic of 'Life Cycles'.
" I liked bird watching, it was really fun and I got to learn a lot about different birds" Olivia
" I really liked bird watching because you got to relax and be near to nature." Rebecca
" I think that bird watching was really fun. We usually block out the sounds of birds and it was a nice experience. It was interesting to identify which bird it was." Keira
During the afternoon of Wellbeing Day we all got arty and produced representations in a mix of media, both inside and out, which represented the idea of 'Spring'.
