Outdoor Learning

At St Cuthbert's, we understand the importance of outdoor learning for our children. The outdoor environment has massive potential for providing learning opportunities. Integrating learning and outdoor experiences, whether through play in the immediate grounds or adventures further afield, provides relevance and depth to the curriculum in ways that are difficult to achieve indoors

We are delighted to have brand new outdoor gym equipment that has been installed as of January 2018.

In addition to this we have purchased 2 outside Table Tennis tables.

Our children in the infants playground have seen new soft mulch put around the outside of their playground to enable them to use these areas all year round. We have had new playground markings laid down on our infants playground too. In the coming weeks we will be adding 2 wooden climbing frames for the children to use too.

Please see some pictures below.

2018/2019 Aims

Our plans for this academic year include setting up a Music wall in the Infants playground, also for the Infants a Garden of reflection area. Our Play pod will see a new system in place to allow the children to freely choose the equipment from the pod. More information to follow.
