Summer Fair and Football Tournament

St Cuthbert’s Football Tournament and Summer Fair

Sunday 10th July 1.30pm to 4.30pm, kick off from 2pm

There will be a football tournament for fun on the field, with other competitions and games too. Please scroll on for more information and ask your rep if you have any queries.

At present, the focus of our fundraising is on an upgraded library, which will be the heart of the school and further encourage a love of reading.

If you can help on the day please email or speak to your class rep – we need to know how many can help before we commit to certain stalls!

Football tournament - registration now open - closes 29th June

Dominik, one of the wonderful Year 6 ambassadors, came up with the idea of a football tournament to raise money for the PTA charity. The tournament is for fun and is aimed at all levels of ability, which will be taken into account when the teams are selected.

On Sunday 10th July, from 2pm, we will be able to enjoy watching the children playing seven a side football against each other while other attractions take place around the sidelines.

The format for the football is currently intended to be as follows, but will be adjusted depending on interest, and in discussion with Mr Taylor regarding ability, to try to make the teams evenly matched. The entry fee will be £4.

  1. Two teams from reception and Year 1 (and potentially some Year 2) combined play each other
  2. Two teams from Years 2, 3 and 4 combined play each other
  3. Two teams from Years 5 and 6 (and potentially Year 4) combined play each other
  4. 2nd team (Year 2-4) + 2nd team (Year 5 and 6) play each other
  5. Winners (Year 2-4) + Winners (Year 5 and 6) play each other

The seven winners from each final will be awarded a small prize and all children taking part will receive a sticker and bag of sweets, if permitted by their parent. It’s all about the fun and the glory, rather than the prizes!

There will also be a small award for great sporting behaviour.

To register please contact your class rep or email by the end of the day on 29th June.

We will be in touch regarding payment in due course.

Once we have expressions of interest Mr Taylor will liaise with the children regarding teams, team names and buddying up children to cheer for each other. Children could be playing at any time between 2pm and 4pm, albeit nearer the time we will have a better indication of match times.

Summer Fair and photo, drawing, craft and fancy dress competitions

We plan to run a few typical summer fair games on the field and in the junior playground. The inflatable games will be making a return too. There will be a raffle in aid of the DEC Ukraine Appeal and we will be selling numbers for our library lottery, with all monies not given out in *CASH PRIZES* being ringfenced to the library project.

In the studio there will be photo and drawing competitions with the theme “summer”. We will also have a craft and fancy dress competition that can include anything you wish! £2.50 to enter each and there will prizes for KS1 and KS2 children and for adults and siblings in all competitions. Bring your drawing/painting, photo and/or craft in on the day or ideally on Friday 8th July, so that it can be displayed. You don’t have to attend the Fair to take part in the competitions

Anyone for tennis? In the Hall we plan to be showing the Wimbledon tennis finals and we hope to offer a bar.

Some food and drink will be available, but you are welcome to bring a picnic.

If you can help on the day please email or speak to your class rep – we need to know how many can help before we commit to certain stalls!

Thank you!
