World Book Day

World Book Day

Everyone in Year 5 made a tremendous effort with their costumes for World Book Day and brought in their favourite books. it was so lovely that so many grandparents could come and enjoy the literacy based activities on offer.  The children redesigned book jackets, revamped our book corner, used a fantastic under the sea painting as a story starter, produced book reviews, made videos about their books and the importance of reading and produced inspirational quotes about reading.  It really was a super morning.

"World Book day was super fun because we could dress up as our favourite characters!" Austin

"I enjoyed it when we did stories and we dressed up. We had to stand up in the assembly and had pictures at the end." Annabel

"I really enjoyed World Book Day because we learned a lot about books and some people did inspirational statements like 'don't judge a book by its cover'. We wrote books and designed covers. I learned that books are more fun when you actually read them." Lily
