Year 4

Welcome to Year 4 Class!

Please do visit our class pages regularly for information regarding Year 4 and to see what we get up to in the classroom!

PE:

Our PE days are Monday and Thursday this term. PE kits must be kept in school all week, in case of any changes.

Please ensure children's PE kits are packed with the following:

- White ankle socks

- Shorts/skort

- Tracksuit bottoms

- PE jumper

- White polo shirt

- Trainers

Home Learning

Home Learning will be set on a Wednesday and must be completed and returned by the following Monday. Home Learning will usually be set on Seesaw, unless otherwise stated (sometimes paper Home Learning may be sent home for specific tasks). Completed Home Learning can be shared as a photograph, a scanned document or a response using the Seesaw tools/templates.

Home Learning will usually switch between an English based task (SPAG, Comprehension or Writing) and a Maths based task (Recap on the week's learning, times tables/division facts or general Maths skills practise). Some weeks, Project Home Learning will also be set.

Reading Folders

Reading folders will reflect Home Learning days. Reading folders will be sent home on a Wednesday and must be returned on a Monday. Reading folders are collected first thing on a Monday morning, to be 'quarantined' and changed on a Wednesday. Any reading folders handed in after a Monday will not be changed until the following week.

Equipment

Please check your child's pencil case regularly to ensure their pencil case is sufficiently equipped:

- Blue handwriting pen, with spares (friction pens need refills as these tend to run out!) Please no biro pens.

- Red pen for marking (this can be a biro).

- Pencil(s) with a sharpener.
- Rubber

- Glue stick(s) - these also tend to run out regularly.

- Ruler

- Colouring pencils/pens are great for Project and Art, too!

All equipment must be labelled and pencil cases small enough to fit into their trays.

Outdoor Learning

We take our learning outdoors regularly, so children need to be prepared to learn outdoors in all weathers:

- A waterproof coat

- Hat, gloves, scarf

- Suncream in the warmer months

- Wellies

Please can your child also bring a named water bottle daily, a morning fruit snack and an optional afternoon snack.

Thank you!
