Year Three worked together with the National Trust at Runnymede to create a River Themed Family Trail. They worked with Jess Kellard, the community inclusion officer, who allowed us to use the NT land to plan and deliver a trail to the general public. In order for this to happen the children have to use their DT skills to plan, make a prototype and discuss with a professional builder, how to make trail boards. They then designed them and used questions that showcased their knowledge of rivers to quiz the public on the trail. Alongside this, geography skills were used to understand the area of Runnymede including its human and physical features. The children created a map with a key that was incased in a leaflet and finally the project was ready for the public.
